Motorola India will hold a media event in New Delhi on September 5 where it is likely to announce Moto G2, the successor of incredibly popular Moto G smartphone in India. The event in Delhi will be held hours after the company’s global event in Chicago where it is expected to unveil the Moto G2, the Moto X+1 and the Moto 360 smartwatch.

According to rumors, Moto G successor will expected to pack in a 5-inch 720p HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4.4. The phone will also include 8/ 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 4G LTE support and the usual set of connectivity options. According to rumors Moto G2 will have considerably higher price compared to the Moto G price.

The unbeatable price is one of the reasons that made the Moto G a big hit across the world, and especially in India. With a price of around Rs 13,000 Moto G offered consumers full and rich Android experience that was only available in phones costing more than Rs 20,000. However, in the last few months the smartphone market has changed a lot and has become much more competitive.

In the Indian phone market, devices like the Xioami Mi 3 and the Zenfone 5 not only offer superior hardware compared to the Moto G hardware but also in most cases offer comparable or better users experience at similar price points.

Let’s wait and watch what’s new news comes on September 5 at a media event in New Delhi.
